This consulate did not only issue the majority of visa applications it received but also had a high share of multiple entry visas granted. A total of 164,440 visas were issued for multiple entry, revealing that 98.5 per cent of the visas granted were multiple entry visas.

These Consulates Have Issued Most Visas to Applicants in 2023

The Swiss consulate in New Delhi dominates consulates with the most visas issued for the year, while the second to follow is the French consulate in Rabat, Morocco, with 127,724 visas out of 146,998 applications being approved.

The Greek consulate in Istanbul (Türkiye) follows third with 124,894 visas out of 152,778 applications, while the French consulate in London (the UK) is fourth, receiving 130,181 applications and approving 123,880. The fifth consulate that issued the most visas was the Italian consulate in Moscow (Russia), issuing 116,189 visas out of 122,970 applications.

Top 10 Consulates With Highest Number of Visa Applications Received

With 189,646 visa applications received, the Swiss consulate in New Delhi also stands out for receiving the highest number of applications for the year – a total of 186,646. The second consulate with the highest application rates was the Greek consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye, receiving 152,778 applications.

The list of ten consulates that received the highest number of visa applications in 2023, led by the Swiss consulate in New Delhi and the Greek consulate in Istanbul, is concluded with the following consulates:

  • The French consulate in Algiers, Algeria, received 152,411 visa applications.
  • The French consulate in Rabat, Morocco, received 146,998 visa applications.
  • The German consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye, received 139,661 visa applications.
  • The French consulate in London, United Kingdom, received 130,181 visa applications.
  • The Italian consulate in Moscow, Russian Federation, received 122,970 visa applications.
  • The German consulate in Mumbai, India, received 113,177 visa applications.
  • The French consulate in Moscow, Russian Federation, received 111,128 visa applications.
  • The Spanish consulate in Moscow, Russian Federation, received 107,193 visa applications.

According to statistics published by EU Helpers, Chinese nationals filed most visa applications in 2023, followed by applicants from Türkiye, India, Morocco, and Russia. On the other hand, countries that received the most applications were France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands.
