More precisely, according to EU Helpers, Slovakia had a low rejection rate for ten nationalities, Greece for nine, and six nationalities for which their visa application was approved after being submitted in Switzerland.
Many Turkish, South African, Filipino, Indonesian, Kosovar, Khazak, Lebanese, and Chinese people were granted visas by Slovakia, while the majority of visas for Americans and Egyptians were granted by Greek officials.
EU Helpers has compiled a short list of the visa applicant countries of origin for 2022 that had the lowest rates of visa denials during this time frame.
Turkiye Turkish nationals, who made up the majority of visa applicants for EU countries in 2022, had low rejection rates in nations like Slovakia (9.55 percent), Italy (7.14 percent), and Luxembourg (7.41 percent).
Put another way, of the 87,648 visa applications submitted to Italian consulates, about 6,259 were turned down; in Luxembourg, the corresponding percentage was smaller, at 102 out of 1,377 requests and 180 out of 1,884 applications sent to Slovakian consulates.
Ukraine
With 132 applications overall receiving a negative response out of a total of 7,653 applications, Poland, Latvia, and the Netherlands had the lowest rejection rates for Russian candidates.
This showed that 1.13 Russian visa applications were turned down by Polish consulates, while 1.75 percent were turned down by Latvian consulates and 2.09 percent by Dutch authorities.
Russia
Just 5.48 percent of the 1,861 Indian visa applicants have had their applications denied by Iceland, meaning that 102 applications total. Nonetheless, the low applicant volume in Iceland may account for the low rejection rate; however, this is not the case in Germany, which is one of the most popular destinations for Indian applicants.
More precisely, in 2022, German officials rejected 8,615 out of 76,352 visa applicants, meaning that the rejection percentage was 11.2%. Like Germany, Switzerland only denied 13.1% of the 106,025 Indian visa applications that it received, or 13,984 applications.
Algeria
Switzerland had a higher rejection rate for Moroccan applicants in the same year, but Poland rejected the fewest Moroccan applicants—9.09 percent of applications, or 42 requests in total.
440 out of 3,356 applications submitted, or about 13.1% of applicants, were denied by Swiss authorities.
Moroccan applicants for visas saw minimal rejection rates from Greek officials; only 22.1% of 782 applications were returned with a negative answer.
Algiers
Algerians are more likely to apply than those of previous nationalities, and as a result, they are more likely to be rejected.
In 2022, Polish authorities had a higher probability of granting visas to Algerian applicants, as 797 out of 35 percent of applications were rejected.
Spanish consulates denied a lot fewer visa applications than consulates in other countries; of 102,656 applications, the rejection percentage was approximately 38.9%, or 39,944 applicants were turned down. Finland, at 39.2 percent, or 205 out of 522 applications, is the third country that declined the fewest applications from Algeria.
Arabian Saudi
According to data from Finnish officials, out of the 89 visa applications submitted by Saudi nationals in 2022, none have been denied. Additionally, Austria and Switzerland had low rates of rejection for Saudi applicants for visas: 1.78 and 2.42 percent of applications, or 297 and 628 denials, respectively.
Authorities in Spain and the Czech Republic rejected only 2.5 and 0.33 percent of all applications, respectively, from Saudi applicants.
Vietnam
In 2022, 1,165 Thai applications were turned down by Swiss authorities, representing around 3.16 percent of all applications. Furthermore, 312 Thai applicants to Austria, or 3.69% of them, were given a negative response.
Danish consulates had a higher rejection rate, turning down 1,043 applications or 14.38% of applicants.
The countries with the lowest rates of visa refusal for Tunisians were Poland (23.05%) and Portugal (23.22%), whereas Norway rejected both of the two applications it received in 2022.
Egypt.
Sixty-six percent of the 512 applications submitted for visas to Slovenia were denied, with Egyptian applicants seeing the lowest rate of rejection. At Greek consulates, the rejection rate for Egyptian applicants was as low, at 10.1% of applications, or 982 rejections. Egypt has not had any visa applications denied by Sweden in 2022, however that is unimportant because there was only one application noted.
South African
In 2022, Slovakia turned down just one South African application, compared to Hungary's roughly 23 rejections, which translated into a 2.74 rejection rate. Nevertheless, despite the increased volume of applications, just 3.1% (371 applications) of South African visa applicants were denied by Greek consulates in 2022.
Additionally, Czechia denied 20 applications in total, or 1.6% of all the requests submitted by South African candidates.
Philippine
Only 190 applications were rejected out of the approximately 2.1% of Filipino candidates who received a negative answer from Greek officials. Filipino applicants to German consulates submitted 14,474 applications as opposed to 9,059, a significantly greater application rate; nonetheless, the rejection rate was still low at 3.09 percent.
Furthermore, Slovakia turned down five applications, or 0.8% of total submissions.
Kuwait.
Malta is one of the European nations that rejects applications from Kuwaiti nationals the least—only three of the 176 applications that these individuals submitted to Malta in 2022 were turned down. Conversely, Norway only turned down seven petitions in 2022, but none were turned down.
The percentage of rejection was lower for Kuwaitis, though, particularly from Italian authorities, who only turned down 3.3% of applications, or 603 out of 18,130 petitions.
Philippines
Out of 4,442 applications, Austria rejected the fewest from Indonesia, approving only about 16 of them, or 0.36 percent. Furthermore, 17 applications—or 0.62 percent of those submitted—were turned down by Greek consulates.
Comparably, out of 299 requests, just two were turned down by Slovak authorities.
Serbia
With 12 denied requests, Lithuania has only rejected 0.20 percent of Kosovo's visa applications; Slovakia had a comparable rejection percentage, with 12 rejected applications translating to an 8.89 percent rejection rate.
Moreover, 502 applications were denied by Greek authorities, representing 5.45% of the total applicants, and around 183 requests (4.53%) were denied by Italian authorities.
In 2022, Belarus Finland did not reject any applications, whilst Czechia did not accept six requests (0.58%).
France and Italy declined a higher number of applications: 284 and 53, or 0.78 and 0.59 percent of all applications, respectively.
Russia
The Netherlands, Slovakia, and Norway did not reject any applications from Kazakh applicants; nevertheless, 2.14 and 5.67% of applications were denied by Greek and Italian consulates, respectively.
Furthermore, almost 60 and 184 applications, respectively, were denied by Estonia and Switzerland, making up 6.07 and 6.09 percent of total rejection rates.
Only four visa applications from Lebanese applicants were denied by Slovakia (1.77%), although rejection rates from applicants from Slovakia (10.58%), Greece (11.7%), and Switzerland (16.97%) were marginally higher than those from other countries.
China.
In 2022, Slovakia and Iceland denied just four and two visa applications from China, respectively, making just 1.79 and 2.47 percent of the country's total rejected applications. Finland, on the other hand, rejected approximately 2.59% of applications, or 33 requests.
