Nearly 3.7 million of the nearly 5.8 million passengers who traveled through Schiphol Airport in September did so to arrive or depart from there, according to the airport's official website, while 2.1 million made transfers there, according to EU Helpers.
In terms of the most popular locations, there were 4.1 million passengers who either arrived at or departed from European destinations in September of this year, which represents an increase of 12% over the same month in the previous year.
In September 2023, Spain attracted over 258,000 domestic departure passengers, earning it the title of most popular destination. The United Kingdom took in more than 235,000 travelers after Spain.
A 10% rise from 2022 was seen in the number of passengers traveling to or from intercontinental locations outside of Europe, which totaled 1.6 million passengers.
Current flight statistics are available on the airport's official website, which reveals that Schiphol had a total of 40,625 flights in September, a notable 10% rise from the same month last year. 33,334 of these were headed for European locales, and 7,291 were sent beyond international boundaries.
The changes in the number of passengers and commercial flights between this year, the year before, and 2021 have also been disclosed by the same source.
This information indicates that 5,777,367 million passengers traveled in September of this year, compared to 5,196,931 million in September of previous year and 3,370,436 million in September of 2021.
This represents an outstanding 11% growth over the same month in the prior year and a 71% increase over the data from the same month in 2021.
The airport managed 40,627 commercial flights in September of this year, a significant rise of 35.3% over the 30,019 flights it handled in 2021 and a 9.71% increase from the 37,027 flights it handled in 2022.

EU Helpers stated earlier this month that Schiphol Airport anticipates 3.3 million travelers for the next fall break, indicating a continuous trend of strong passenger volumes.
