Residents are also advised to avoid being near rivers and flood drains while the Barcelona airport is filled with water, making it impossible to carry on with regular activities.
Valencia province has been hit the hardest by this natural disaster, mainly due to being informed about the horrific weather too late. This has caused distress among residents, and as a result, in a recent visit to Paiporta, flood victims expressed their frustration by throwing mud towards the Spanish royals, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.

Travel Insurance Can Save You From Additional Expenses in Emergent Cases
It is always advisable to purchase travel insurance when travelling abroad. By purchasing travel insurance, you can protect yourself from unexpected expenses, which can sometimes be expensive.
Travel insurance protects you even in natural disasters, which is the case with floods. Schengen visa insurance requirements must ensure the holder’s coverage of up to €30,000 and that it is valid in all Schengen Area countries, including Spain.
In addition, it is crucial for the travel insurance to be valid during the whole stay in the Schengen Area, and in cases of emergencies, it covers hospitalisation and medical evacuation.
